The Cleaning Corporation is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all Specialist Technicians, contractors, clients, and members of the public affected by our operations. Health and safety is at the core of our values and is treated as non-negotiable in every decision we make.

We operate a certified Occupational Health and Safety Management System in accordance with ISO 45001, and we comply with all applicable health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

Health and safety responsibility is embedded throughout our organisational structure:

• Board & Division Directors: accountable for the overall H&S management system and for providing adequate resources.
• Operations Managers: responsible for implementing H&S procedures, ensuring risk assessments are in place, and monitoring compliance.
• Specialist Technicians: responsible for following safe systems of work, using PPE, and reporting hazards and incidents.
• Health & Safety Officer: provides independent oversight, audits, and guidance across all divisions.

A site-specific risk assessment is conducted before every project. We produce detailed Method Statements (RAMS) that define the scope of work, identified hazards, control measures, and emergency procedures. No work commences until the RAMS has been reviewed and accepted.

We comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002. All cleaning chemicals are assessed for hazards, and Safety Data Sheets are maintained for every product used. We prioritise eco-conscious, low-toxicity products wherever operationally viable, and ensure correct storage, handling, and disposal.

Every Specialist Technician completes structured induction and role-specific training through our Specialist Technician Academy. Training includes manual handling, working at height, chemical safety, and division-specific certifications. Competence is verified before technicians are deployed, and ongoing CPD is mandatory.

Appropriate PPE is provided to all personnel and is mandatory on site. This includes, as required: safety footwear, high-visibility clothing, eye protection, gloves, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. PPE is inspected regularly and replaced when necessary.

All equipment is maintained, LOLER-inspected, and PAT-tested in accordance with statutory requirements. For work at height, we use rope access (IRATA-certified), MEWPs (IPAF-certified), and tower systems (PASMA-certified), operated only by qualified personnel. Confined space work is conducted under permit with trained teams.

All incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions are reported, investigated, and recorded. We conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. RIDDOR-reportable incidents are notified to the Health and Safety Executive as required.

All subcontractors are vetted for H&S competence before joining our approved network. They must provide evidence of insurance, certifications, and a compliant H&S record. Subcontractor performance is monitored, and non-compliance results in removal from our network.

Our H&S management system is subject to regular internal audits, external ISO 45001 surveillance audits, and management review. We actively seek feedback and use performance data to drive continuous improvement across all nine divisions.
